"A Cheat-Sheet Memoir," an essay by Seth Sawyers, appeared in Ninth Letter volume 3, number 1, our Spring/Summer 2006 issue. This audio version is performed by Drew Shirley as part of a collaborative project between Ninth Letter and the Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.
Seth Sawyers has had creative nonfiction appear in River Teeth, Fourth Genre, Crab Orchard Review, Fugue, The Jabberwock Review, and elsewhere. His personal essay "Fried Eggs" was recently chosen to appear in River Teeth's tenth-anniversary issue. He is at work on a memoir about growing up in the 1980s, about Transformers, stuttering, little league baseball, and girls. A native of western Maryland, he now lives in Baltimore. He was the 2007 Emerging Writer in Residence at Penn State Altoona. He has an MFA from Old Dominion University and currently teaches writing workshops at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He will give a reading at Scranton University in the spring of 2009.
